When Ms. Wright Muir became an open member of the LGBT community, she felt there was a need for additional safe spaces for LGBT women, so she founded “Thou Art Woman,” an open mic event for LGBT women and their allies. “Thou Art Woman” has been warmly received and well-attended, and has since grown to include other events such as a recent screening of a Jamaican LGBT film and “Money Talks,” a forum addressing financial wellness.
